3.4 Establishment of the Collective Contract

Page Completion Estimate = 5 Minutes

During the collective consultation both parties discuss and consult each other on the topics to be included into the collective contract. The structure for these meetings is straightforward; the agenda, time and place for the meetings should be discussed and agreed upon by both parties before the meetings commences. In order to enhance transparency either party is obliged to provide the other party with relevant information and data. Precondition is that laws and regulations on secrecy are not violated, and the company’s business secrets are not involved.

In the event that during the meetings no consensus is reached, parties can temporarily, with a maximum term of 60 days, postpone negotiations. However, in order to safeguard the overall progress of the agenda, time and place for the next meeting must be agreed upon before postponing. After both parties have agreed on the contents of the collective labour contract, the contract can be signed. Only the chief representatives of both parties are authorized to sign the collective contract.
