Program Overview
Navigating employment in China requires more than an understanding of local labor laws. Companies operate within an employment environment shaped by legal requirements, cultural expectations, regional differences, workforce practices, and the tax and social security rules applicable to both Chinese and foreign employees. At the same time, enforcement is influenced not only by national legislation, but also by local implementation, regulatory inspections and evolving expectations around corporate responsibility and ESG. Failure to manage these requirements effectively can result in financial exposure, reputational damage and employment disputes.
The Employment Strategies in China Diploma Program provides a comprehensive and practical approach to these challenges. It equips HR professionals, managers, compliance teams, global mobility specialists and business leaders with the knowledge and tools required to effectively manage employment in China. Rather than examining regulations in isolation, the program connects China’s employment framework with business practice, covering areas such as employment contracts, payroll, social security, individual income tax, labor dispatch, employee relations and employment-related risks. Practical case studies, real-world examples and applied exercises help participants understand how these requirements affect day-to-day business decisions.
By completing the program, participants will develop the knowledge and practical capabilities to design and implement effective employment strategies in China. They will be better equipped to align employment practices with business objectives, manage regulatory and operational risks, and build sustainable employment structures that support their organization’s activities in the Chinese market.
